Welwitschia mirabilis

Welwitschia mirabilis is a bizarre, iconic desert plant native only to the Namib Desert of Namibia and Angola. Often called a "living fossil", it is famous for living up to 1,500 years and producing only two permanent leaves that grow continuously from the base and fray over time.
